Our Special Programs
Students may nominate to be a school leader through the house system. This allows students to take an active role in leading students and representing the school in the community.
Students will be given the opportunity to produce a Year Book. The Year Book records the high school journey of the graduating class and contains many photos, captions and articles describing the transformation of the students from Year 7 to Year 10.
School Musical Productions
Students are invited to participate in the school musical production during Term 2 at the Tuggeranong Arts Centre. This event involves students in acting, singing, dancing, production and publicity.
Dance students are invited to participate in Ausdance's Dancefest at the Canberra Theatre. This non-competitive event showcases student developed work to the community.
Since 1985 Youth Dance Festival has been a regular highlight of the Canberra dance calendar, connecting students and teachers with professional dancers, theatre staff and appreciative audiences. This is the ACT's largest youth arts performance and it's a real show that surprises with the quality of presentation. It is a wonderful non-competitive event which develops dance and performance skills in a supportive environment, and on the main stage in the region. Each performance night at the Canberra Theatre attracts a large audience and it is strongly supported by the local media and community. In 2012 there were 46 separate dance pieces from 31 different high schools and colleges, and over the years more than 29,000 young dancers have had the time of their lives. Because that's why it all started - to experience dancing in a professional environment to the best of our abilities, without judgement or competition, but with support and care.
