Road Ready is designed to help young people in the ACT to become safer and more competent drivers. The Road Ready program takes young people from preparing for a learner licence, to learning to drive, through to driving solo on a provisional licence, and eventually moving onto a full licence. During Year 10 students have the opportunity to participate in the certified Road Ready program to prepare them to get their Learner's Certificate. This is offered to students at no cost and takes place after school hours. The Department of Urban Services requires successful completion of the course and the examination at the end before it will issue a Learner Driver's Permit.
